You’ve Downloaded Your Wedding Photos… Now What?
Did you know that only 29% of couples ever print photos from their wedding day?
The majority of couples spend thousands of dollars on their wedding photos for them to sit on a usb drive, digital gallery or social media. Your wedding photos are some of the most important photos you’ll ever have taken. Most people place them in the top 5 things they would grab in a home fire. So what exactly should you do with your photos after you receive them from your photographer?
-
Backup your photos.
The first thing I recommend you do is back your photos up to at least two locations. Upload one backup to an online platform like Dropbox or Google Drive so that if you ever lose your physical copy you have a virtual backup. Next, I recommend creating another physical copy of them and putting it somewhere safe like a bank lock box or fireproof safe.
-
Talk to your photographer about what printing services they offer.
I know many photographers, like myself, have access to high quality print labs that use state of the art printing and materials to guarantee that your prints will last for years to come. Your photographer may even offer album design services that will take a lot of the work off your plate and give you a beautiful way to show off the thousands you spent on your photos.
I recommend going to your photographer for all prints you want to display in your home or give as a gift. Personally, I pride myself on offering my clients the highest quality prints, albums, display pieces and packaging possible. It may cost you a bit more, but it will be worth it in the end to know you’re getting the best quality out there. I even guarantee my prints for life, so if anything were to happen to your prints, I will replace them at no cost to you.
-
Print small copies of all your favorite photos.
Having physical photos to hand down to generations is hugely important. Think about how much it will mean to sit down with your grandkids and show them the photos from your wedding day. For all the photos you don’t plan to show off around your house, I recommend heading to a Walmart or Walgreens and printing the bulk of your photos as 4x6 or 5x7 prints so you have physical copies of them as well. Finally, store those somewhere accessible but safe so you can find them when you need them!
-
Frame and hang your prints.
Once you receive your display photos from your photographer, be sure to frame and hang them in your home. Your photographer can help you decide on what sizes and layouts will look best on your wall and may even sell high quality frames that will transform your prints into full art pieces! Hanging them is the final step and you’ll be able to show off your gorgeous photos fro everyone to see!
