Senior FAQ
- How do senior photos work?
-
Great question! From the minute we connect, we'll begin planning out the session. You pick out which type of session you'd like and the date and then we'll start talking about locations. If you need help picking out locations, I've got plenty of locations to choose from! In multi-location sessions the location must be within 15 minutes of each other. When the date for your senior pictures arrives, we'll meet at our first location and begin the shoot. I'll coach you through the posing so you'll feel more comfortable and I'll give you prompts to get those candid moments you'll want for your social media. After the session, I take the photos into the computer and will cull down the session to the best of the best images and send you a proof sheet. You'll get to select your favorites from the proof sheet that you want to receive a Master Edit. From there I'll edit, process, and retouch the images and when they're ready I'll email you an online gallery you can download them from!
- What kinds of locations work best?
-
Honestly, it can be anywhere you want! If you're not sure of how a location might photograph, feel free to ask me, I'd be happy to give you my professional opinion. Typically, parks and downtown areas are great go to's but I've also used schools, stadiums, green houses, homes, farms and more! So if you can dream it, we can create it!
- If I want specific photos, can I request those?
-
Of course! I'm happy to re-create photos you may have seen online with out own creative twist! Just be sure to share the inspiration images or a Pinterest board with me before your session!
- Where do I change outfits during the session?
-
Many times we'll be close to a bathroom where you can run inside and change before our next location, but on the chance that it's closed or we aren't near one I carry a pop up changing tent with me so you can change in privacy!
- Who do I bring with me?
-
Whoever you're most comfortable with! Ideally a parent if you're under the age of 18. If your parent cannot attend your session and you're under the age of 18, I will need your parent to sign a letter of consent that gives their permission to allow me to photograph your session without one of them in attendance. If a parent can't accompany you, I recommend bring your best friend! They'll be able make you feel more comfortable, can help get genuine reactions out of you, and can even be in a photo or two if you'd like!
- What about hair and make up?
-
If you want to have your hair and make up professionally done, I work with some very talented hair and make up artists on a regular basis! If you plan to do your own hair and make up for your senior session, I recommend going a little heavier on the eye make up than normal so it will stand out in the photos! Hair choice is up to you! Straight, curly, spikey? What's your style?
- How should I dress for senior photos?
-
Dress like who you are! Don't like suits? Don't wear one! Your senior photos should show who you are right now, so feel free to dress however you'd like. In my opinion photos typically look best when you wear solid colors, layer up, and accessorize!
