Struggling to pick out where to take your engagement photos? Well, look no further! I'm back to share an updated list of my favorite engagement photo locations of 2022 with you all!
Peninsula
Peninsula is one of my favorite go to spots because of the convenience and variety it offers! It’s a sweet little town in between Akron and Cleveland which makes it a great central meeting location for anyone! It also lies right on the Cuyahoga River, Cuyahoga Valley National Park, and the Cuyahoga Railroad! The transition from outdoorsy to local small town makes for great vibes no matter what the season and the old locks and bridges make for great photo ops!
Marblehead Lighthouse
This one is a bit of a hike, but if you're feeling up to it, it definitely won't disappoint. The Marblehead Lighthouse is situated right on the coast of Lake Erie and after spending a couple hours there for an engagement session this past year, I fell in love with the location! Between the light house, the coast, walking trails, and the rock faces there's so much opportunity for unique engagement photos!
Cleveland Museum of Art
Looking for a modern location with lots of versatility? The Cleveland Museum of Art has you covered! The museum is a free location that has beautiful marble stairs, pillars, and walk ways and it looks over the stunning Wade Lagoon, which features some of the best Cherry Blossom trees in the city if you can catch them at the right time!
The Cultural Gardens
The Cleveland Cultural Gardens are a favorite location for wedding day photos, but they also make for beautiful engagement photos! There are plenty of scenic gardens to choose from, but most popular are the Italian Garden, the Hungarian Garden, and the Greek Garden. In the fall, the backgrounds are absolutely lit up with fall colors and everything looks absolutely stunning!
Sail Boating on Lake Erie
This one is for the adventurous couple! This year, I've had the opportunity to partner with Cleveland's only sail boat charter company to bring couples a one of a kind experience. Sunset sail boat engagement sessions on Lake Erie. This session is one of a kind and sure to stun your friends and family when they see the results! Imagine you and your fiancé cruising around Lake Erie, a drink in hand, the wind blowing through your hair and a photographer there to capture every moment! Be sure to contact me if you'd like more information!
Cleveland Heights
This location surprised me. I came across this area of town after our original plan for these photos was ruined and we needed a plan B. We landed over in Cleveland Heights and wow, I was here for the dark, moody energy that it had. There are lots of cool alley ways, overgrown plants, and cool buildings. If grunge or darker vibes are more your thing, check out Cleveland Heights!
Ohio City
Ohio City is another great city location if you’re looking for fun art and more of a NYC borough look. Think of it like Cleveland’s version of Brooklyn! There are tons of cool murals painted all across Ohio City, but you can also find old brick and industrial buildings off of West 25th street. This is typically a high traffic area though, so depending on the time of year you may have issues with lots of people on the streets and finding parking!
Blue Hen Falls
Another Northeast Ohio gem not far from Peninsula is Blue Hen Falls! Currently at the time of writing this, it’s a bit of a hike from the nearest parking lot, but if you can get dropped off there you’ll minimize the hiking distance! After a short hike from the trail head, you’ll come across one of the best waterfalls between Cleveland and Akron (aside from Brandywine Falls). The coolest part about Blue Hen Falls is that it’s pretty easy to hike down to the base of the waterfall for photos! Brandywine Falls… not such an easy hike down.
Stan Hywet Hall & Gardens
Previously lived in by the Seiberling family (founder of Goodyear Tires), Stan Hywet now is a historically significant estate and museum located in Akron, OH. Stan Hywet is a highly sought after wedding venue in the Akron area, and for good reason. The estate features 10 garden areas, beautiful old architecture, fountains, gorgeous landscaping and more!
The Ledges Trail
A favorite local hiking spot of mine is the Ledges Trail. This trail is 1.8 miles full of natural Ohio magic. The diverse plant life, beautiful natural ledges, and the overlook make for a perfect engagement experience for those wanderlust souls.
