Shannon + Ron
Shannon and Ron got married on September 9, 2023 at West Fall Event Center in Valley View, OH.
Looking back on their special day....
A moment that makes them smile: The moment that got me in my feels the most was watching the flower girls and ring bearers during the ceremony. First of all, my nephews looked so adorable in their little tuxes. Secondly, they were pulling a wagon with my two little flower girls who were 14 & 16 months old. Those little girls sat in that wagon, eating their snacks, happy as could be, and I was so shocked how well it went. I was sure that the babies were not going to cooperate in the wagon, and that my nephews were going to have to bail on my plan and fend for themselves. I started crying happy tears watching all four of them make it down the aisle with zero hiccups, like they've done this 100 times. It was just the cutest thing I've ever seen and I completely lost it. I cried the whole way down the aisle because of those little cuties.
A moment that makes them laugh: There were definitely a few, but when we were taking photos pre ceremony at the park we kept having to remove literal crickets from my dress! As we were walking through the field we realized I had about 5 crickets crawling up the layers of my wedding dress. There's a photo of my sister removing them, and it just cracks me up every time.
Their favorite moment: Our first look photo shoot was by far my favorite moment of the whole day. It felt like a movie and was almost an out of body experience. Justin came to get me from the shuttle bus and we started walking down the long bridge to meet Ronnie. All I remember is hearing my footsteps as I walked across the bridge, I could feel my heart was pounding, and the wind was blowing my veil for a true Beyoncé moment. I was cheesing real hard and was so excited for Ronnie to finally see my dress. He had the best reaction. We just laughed and smiled, and truly took in the moment. He was beyond adorable and it was just the best moment ever.
If they had to plan it all over, what they would 100% include again: I truly don't think I would change anything, to be honest. There were hiccups, sure. But those hiccups are apart of our story. I would 10000% book Justin and his team time and time again. I recommend him to everyone I know, including my clients who book weddings with me at Great Lakes Brewing Co. I am also fully obsessed with Megan over at Blossom Cleveland. Her flowers are otherworldly, and her style is so unique. She's also an amazing human and so lovely to work with. Don’t skip the flowers!
Wedding planning tips for other couples: Do what feels authentic to you. Don't follow the trends and do what TikTok says to do. I knew that music was an important part of the day for us, so we focused on an extended cocktail hour and had one of our favorite local bands play during that time. Not the typical wedding to have a full band rock out for cocktail hour, to then move into a DJ set for the rest of the evening. But, that’s us! I wanted to dance the whole night, and we made that happen.
